Are surrounding habitats destroyed when the Forest Gardens expand?
The importance of site selection and tree management
Existing habitats are identified as part of the project application and site assessment process. If any habitats are identified that would be at risk or incompatible with tree planting, the application would not be granted. Also, the farmers are trained in how to manage Forest Gardens, which are designed to promote and protect biodiversity rather than impinge on it.
