The agroforestry schemes we support are designed to be sustainable. Farmers attend workshops ahead of planting to instruct them in the design of Forest Gardens and how best to maintain them. One of the topics covered is irrigation and how farmers can help raise or maintain the water table so that tree growth is sustainable and not detrimental in any way to the local ecosystem.
