Why plant trees in countries like Tanzania where people live well below the World Bank’s Global Poverty Line?
The case for planting in the developing world
If most people in Tanzania had a standard of living that was above the World Bank’s benchmark for reducing extreme poverty, then the case for planting trees in other, poorer countries would be more compelling. The rationale for funding charities and NGOs across the developing world is to support those in greatest need and lift communities out of poverty.
